Writing

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well and you are having a nice term ending. Now our academic charge is lower because our clases are over, but don't be complacent. Use time wisely, giving some time to rest and to study too ;). May be you, if you get enough organized, you could do something that you couldn't do during the term. Did you ever want to write a story? Maybe you already had the opportunity to write and you liked it, but you haven't take time for doing it.  Maybe you believe that there's something that you can say that could help or be interesting for other people.  Maybe people needs to hear what you want to say. At least I have felt that way. I believe that communication is a super powerful tool. We wouldn't be what we are right now if we couldn't communicate between each other. Personally, I like to meet people because I can learn about them and I can give them something too.  One of the persons that has had more influence in my l

Nanotechnology

Hello everyone! How are you doing? I hope you are doing excelent! Are you sad right now? No matter what is the reason for it, there is a reason to be happy again and it is that God loves you more than anything. So come on! Raise your face again, reach out to God and tell him what you are going through. He is able to help you all the time and to give you hope. You are loved, you are valuable, don't forget that ;). Sometimes, in our life we look so close to details that we forget to look the totality, the truth and principles that are behind every situation we live, and that isn't good for us. In contrast, when we look close to the details, the components, the microsistems present in nature, we can understand better the processes that happen at a macroscale, and that is very good. That is what Nanotechnolgy studies. Objects at a nano scale. The idea of nanoscale it is a little bit difficult to understand, but here it is a picture that might help you:     [Picture source]

How am I doing?

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well and you are having a nice semester. I know that we are getting closer to important tests, but be calm and prepare for what is coming. If you see that you have too much things to do, don't panic and face them one at a time. May be you don't finish everything, but at least you would have moved forward and sooner or later you will keep up to date. About a month ago I told you that I get in Biochemistry. Now I'm going to tell you how I am doing, especially what the subject is that I have liked the most. Getting in the university has been a big challenge for me. I realized that my study method was horrible, my priorities were disordered and my capability to plan and respect my own planning was very weak. Every subject has been a challenge for me and even the varied schedule it was something to deal with. Even though it has been difficult for me and I have been sad and frustrated sometimes, I'm happy because I think that it ha

Did you ever hear about Carver?

Hello everyone! I hope you are having an excellent weekend so you can rest and be prepared for this month's first week. In this opportunity, I'm going to tell you a little bit about an important scientist, botanist, chemist and inventor from USA. His name is George Washington Carver and his story is inspiring. [SHS 007806; Courtesy of the Tuskegee Institute,  Dictionary of American Portraits ] He was born in Diamond, a southwest Missourian town, just when slavery was abolished. His birth date is uncertain but it's around 1865. He was raised by his mother's owners: Moses and Susan Carver, after the kid and his mother where kidnapped and Moses could only recover George. Due to he was too young for working in farm activities he helped at household tasks. It was then that his love for plants started. Susan Carver taught him how to read and write, and when he was about eleven years old he left the Carver's cabin looking for a black school where he could study.
