A book and a movie...

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a nice day.

Today I want to recommend you a book and a movie I like. It is hard to mention just one of them, because each one gives a mesagge, and a mesagge said in the right way can cause a significant impact in the person that recieves it. Sometimes that impact can be so deep that makes you take decisions, changes your way of doing things or even your vision of the world. So here are two powerful mesagges I have recieved.

 First Impact: The Bible.

This is the most powerful book I had ever read, it is so good that I'm still reading it! I can't believe that every page I read can have so much treasures to my daily life. In fact, that's why I'm taking so long to read it completely, because I prefer to taste every treasure I find instead of swallow all the book at once.

The Bible tells the story of whole humanity, from the beginning to the end, focussing in one nation only: Israel. Certainly, you will understand that there are a lot of stories on it and that could make you think that there are a lot of different mesagges but, if you read them, you can see there is a guiding thread among all of them: Jesus. The main mesagge in the Bible is:

  1. God loves us and has a plan for us
  2. Sin separates us from God
  3. Jesus reconcile us with God
  4. Every one must decide if she/he wants to be reconciled with God.

Second Impact: Hidden Figures.

I liked this movie so much when I saw it because I was reading a book related with going beyond your confort zone and do significant things, and these movie has a lot of people that didn't give up because of the circunstances they where living or all the problems they had to get their objectives. When I watched it I said to myself "wow! are you crying for your problems that are nothing compared with the problems they had?". That motivated me to change my attitude at the time of facing challenges. I started seeing them as an oportunity of growing instead of a gigant coming to crush me.

Here it is the trailer if you want to watch it.

I also recommend you to read the book I was reading. It is: "Do hard things" by Alex & Brett Harris.

God Bless you :D

Changing ends

People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.  Proverbs 28:13 New Living Translation  [source] Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well :D. Are you in the middle of evaluations? Come on! I now you can do it ;). Talking about that, evauations are very important because they show you the things that you have to change or improve. When this year started I share with you some issues that I had to improve to continue at university. Well, as much as I need to be evaluated, the university needs it too. What about changing roles for a while? Let's check in what aspects does the university need to improve. In this post I'm going to focus on five aspects. You can assign a score to each of them according to your perception. Perception                     ----- Score Satisfied                    ...

Two photographs I like

Hello everyone! I hope you are having an excelent test period, and if you are not, I hope you have the willingness and calm to lern about the things you fail, understanding that you are in a growth process. This time I'm going to share with you some photos that are special for me and I really like. At the end, I want you to make a meditation about what they represent for you. "Rayitos de Sol" This was the second photograph I took with my cellphone about two years ago. It shows some summer flowers in my father's house garden and three apiaries behind. I like this photo because the colors are really beautiful and well defined. You can clearly see each flower separately. Most of all, I like this photo because it reminds me home, my dad (he loves bees), summer and vacations. "Family beside the lighthouse" My dad took this picture of our family, maybe you can see him holding a remote control with his left hand. From left to right, my father, his w...

Music in my life

Hello everyone! I hope you had a great long holiday weekend. In this post I'm going to share with you about a topic that I have already mentioned in my last post: music in my life. I have always liked music. I growth listening to Los Jaivas, NapalĂ©, Bee Gees, Queen, Peter Gabriel and others. I liked to hear how different voices and instruments sound so good together and try to identify which instruments were being played along each song.  When I was at 2th grade, I had some piano lessons, but I give up on them because I wasn't willing to change my playing time for practice time. Now I regret for that decision. Later, I started learning to play the guitar at school and I liked it a lot but I didn't expected that I would receive a guitar in my birthday that summer. It was a beautiful gift and this time I was going to seize it. [draw by Esperanza Vera] But, I had to make a decision. I was going to play the guitar only as a hobby?  In the mean while I dicovered th...
